About Damiro Leather Goods
Damiro was founded to introduce high-end, handmade South American leather goods to the U.S. market that represent the ultimate in handcrafted leather and a departure from mass produced products. The company offers a new line of leather briefcases, attachés, computer bags and accessories that combine the highest quality, Italian style, full grain aniline leathers, with the renowned craftsmanship of master artisans. Elegant in style, fashion and design, Damiro leather business cases and accessories bear the mark of quality that is comparable to refined Italian leather goods, but more competitively priced. The company began with our founder’s journey to South America. While working there as a University Professor of Marketing and English, Tim discovered an intriguing fact: South American leather was commonly exported to Italy and Spain for integration into luxurious and more expensive leather goods, but was also used for local production by highly skilled artisans at a lower cost. Natural dying methods and Italian equipment were used to process the leather, so the higher end business cases had the consistency and refinement of premium Italian leather goods. Tim says, "It's very common for customers to believe Damiro leather business cases are imported from Italy, and they are surprised to find out the products are from South America. They quickly realize Damiro leather goods are a relative bargain for the high level of craftsmanship and exceptional quality of the leather." Overall, it became apparent that many leather goods imported into the United States, even expensive ones, were now mass produced and lacked the genuine attention to detail and fine craftsmanship of handmade goods. So, Tim founded Damiro to bring new products to the U.S. market that are superior to mass produced goods, and yet distinctive and eye-catching, offering superior quality and cutting-edge styling at a great price. Damiro also strives to support the economies of the Americas, especially the poorer countries in South America that can truly benefit from trade and exportation to the United States. Consequently, Damiro has pledged a percentage of its profits to support poor communities in South America, especially children’s charities, all through trustworthy American organizations.
